Archaeologists from Innsbruck University discovered a 1,500-year-old ivory box, or pyx, within a marble shrine under an altar at a chapel on Burgbichl hill in Irschen, Austria. The pyx, adorned with Christian motifs, is tied to the biblical story of Moses receiving the Ten Commandments. Lead archaeologist Gerald Grabherr noted the rarity of such finds, with only around 40 known worldwide. The team also unearthed two Christian churches, a cistern, and personal belongings from the settlement.
